In August, the LA Region held their Annual Cornhole Fundraiser for the Bergelectric Charitable Foundation. Money raised was split 50/50 with CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Each year the CHOC Foundation selects a past patient to become their CHOC Walk Ambassador. This year that was Hudson Kent who is 12 years cancer free due to the amazing treatment he received at CHOC. At 15 months old, Hudson was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and had a tumor the size of a cantaloupe. A kidney and the tumor were removed followed by intensive chemotherapy and regular follow ups. The Kent Family has been walking and fundraising for CHOC ever since under the moniker, Team HHK. While Hurricane Hillary passed overhead, staff and family from the LA Region walked with Hudson and Team HHK at the Disneyland Resort helping CHOC raise over $2M. Hudson was the guest of honor at the LA Region Cornhole Event where $77,000 was raised! The cornhole event has inspired Hudson on how he will do his fundraising for future year’s CHOC Walks. Thank you to all of our vendors, suppliers and customers who came out to play in the heat and donate to this worthy cause. Thank you to Hudson, his mom Eby, and Lisa from CHOC for spending the day with us and sharing Hudson’s story!
