SEPTEMBER 19, 2024—Bergelectric’s Portland region hosted its seventh annual Bergelectric Cornhole Classic tournament. All had a good time! This year’s charity of choice was the Portland East Ronald McDonald House (RMHC). This house is part of the Oregon and SW Washington chapter, which is the only chapter serving families needing comfort and support during trying times, with absolutely no fee or suggested donation from the families they serve. Contrary to popular belief, each chapter of RMHC is funded mainly by local individuals and businesses like ours. Berg raised $27,000. This donation allows them to provide 80 free night’s stay for families traveling to RMHC, one week of dinner at four of their 4 Oregon locations, 50 trips to the “Treasure Closet,” where kids can pick out toys, and 2-weeks of family programming, such as dog therapy and music and craft time—making this “one of the largest fundraising events” their chapter has ever had! It was a joy to tour the Ronald McDonald House and see how they serve our community and the families that need it most!
