This year’s Seattle Cornhole Classic Tournament held on September 6th turned out to be a great success. The Seattle team chose to support World Relief, a non-profit organization that helps integrate immigrants and refugees in vulnerable situations into communities across Washington State. This was the third year we have chosen to partner with World Relief. Every year, before starting the tournament, we ask World Relief to speak to the group about where the tournament money goes. This year, they let us know that they used our donation from the previous year to help build their commercial kitchen. The kitchen will be used to train refugees and immigrants with a high interest in culinary arts and entrepreneurship while forging relationships with the community.
This year’s tournament set a few records for our region, including signing up 38 teams to compete (12 more than the previous year) and raising more money than we had before. This year, we raised approximately $23,000 for World Relief and the Berg Charitable Foundation. Many new companies participated this year and received positive feedback throughout the day and after the event. The Seattle team will continue to work on growing the tournament and creating fun ways to get donations & raise more money for our selected charity and the Berg Charitable Foundation.
