Since 2008 Bergelectric has maintained a presence on the Orange, California campus of Rady Children’s Health, a premier pediatric healthcare system uniting the trusted expertise of CHOC and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. Our efforts started with Design Assist services followed by the construction of the Bill Holmes Tower, which opened in 2013, and continuing most recently with the Southwest Tower and numerous renovations and shell buildouts in the Bill Holmes Tower. Our presence there has opened our eyes to the level of care the pediatric healthcare system provides to its patients and their families. Over the years, members of our Bergelectric families have become patients in Rady Children’s facilities and have supported the nonprofit healthcare system’s mission through philanthropy, including participation in the annual CHOC Walk in the Park, presented by Disneyland® Resort, and fundraising through our local Cornhole Classic.

In 2022, the Bergelectric Charitable Foundation (BCF) signed a 5-year partnering agreement with the CHOC Foundation totaling $125,000 to support critical expansions. As part of that agreement, the BCF was granted a naming opportunity in the Southwest Tower, a 330,000-square-foot building housing a variety of outpatient services in a soothing and inviting patient-and family-centered environment. In addition to multiple specialty clinics, the nine-story tower includes a comprehensive imaging center, a dedicated research floor, and infusion services.

On July 30, 2025, members of the BCF Board, Bergelectric LA Region staff, CHOC Foundation staff, and McCarthy Builders SoPac CEO and CHOC Foundation Board Member Mike Myers participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the “Bergelectric Tunnel of Care” located on the 2nd floor of the Southwest Tower. The tunnel is in one of the two main entrances and welcome areas near the tower’s café, pharmacy and reading nook where books are available for patients to read and take home.
