Warming Lives, One Bundle at a Time: Berg Family and Five Offices Unite Behind Gently Hugged This Spring
Spring brought a remarkable outpouring of goodwill, uniting our Corporate, San Diego, NTS, Underground, and National offices in a shared act of compassion. As long-time partners of Gently Hugged—a heartfelt San Diego nonprofit founded by two dedicated public health nurses—we were proud to stand behind their mission. Moved by the stark reality that so many families struggle to provide even the most basic necessities for their newborns, these nurses turned empathy into action.
Gently Hugged works tirelessly year-round to collect, sort, and carefully inspect gently used and new clothing, blankets, socks, bibs, and other essential baby items. Once packaged with care, these goods are entrusted to nurses and social workers who deliver them directly to low-income, military, immigrant, and foster families across our communities. Their belief is simple but powerful: every baby deserves to be warm, clothed, and cared for. It’s a belief the Berg family shares wholeheartedly.
This spring, our collective effort made a tangible difference. Together, we gathered 85 pounds of clothing—the majority brand new—along with 18 blankets, diapers, and a variety of other essential items. Each piece represents a family supported, a baby welcomed with dignity, and a community choosing to show up for its most vulnerable members.
