Running for Steve: Honoring a Legacy, Supporting a Cause
Over Labor Day weekend, the Bergelectric Charitable Foundation proudly continued its longstanding partnership with the Escondido Sunrise Rotary, sponsoring the annual 5K benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, including a $25,000 donation.
This year’s event carried special significance as it was dedicated to our friend and colleague, Steve Buhr, whose impact on the Bergelectric family continues to be felt every day. Participants were welcomed by signs and tributes along the first mile of the course, celebrating Steve’s life, legacy, and the countless lives he touched.
Nearly 100 walkers, runners, and four-legged companions from Bergelectric’s three San Diego-area offices came together to support Steve’s wife, Lupe, and their children, Jasmine and Raymond. In a memorable moment, Jasmine crossed the finish line in record time wearing a Lakers cap, a tribute to one of her father’s favorite teams, and honored Steve’s memory with his signature peace sign.
It was a meaningful day of community, remembrance, and support for a cause that remains close to the hearts of the Bergelectric family.
