WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30th–Employees from Bergelectric’s Corporate office donated clothing and hygiene products to Palomar Healthcare/One Safe Space in San Marcos, CA, and the Bergelectric Charitable Foundation also made a monetary donation to the organization.
One Safe Place, located in San Marcos, California, is a comprehensive support center providing free services for individuals impacted by various forms of abuse and trauma, including child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, hate crimes, elder abuse, human trafficking, violent loss, and family violence.
In addition to case management, trauma therapy, and legal assistance, One Safe Place offers a wide range of practical resources under one roof. Visitors can access a learning area for cooking classes and workshops on self-defense, financial literacy, and legal guidance.
Partnered with Palomar Health, One Safe Place also provides a specialized area for forensic exams in cases of sexual assault, ensuring evidence is gathered respectfully. It can be used in court if needed.
A unique feature of One Safe Place is Sharia’s Closet, which supplies clothing to individuals and families in need and helps clients dress for job opportunities. Within Sharia’s Closet, there’s also a salon where clients can receive free hair services, giving them a chance to restore confidence and feel empowered, whether preparing for a job interview or recovering from trauma. All of these services are provided at no cost by dedicated volunteers.
