Chloe’s Playground of Hope: Bergelectric LA Region and Roc Solid Foundation Build Joy for 4-Year-Old Cancer Warrior

May 16th in Bergelectric’s LA Region, staff from the Agoura office and field partnered with the Roc Solid Foundation in Rosemead, CA to build a playset for CHLA Patient Chloe, a 4-year-old girl fighting (and beating!!) neuroblastoma. What began as a 9-person build team quickly turned into something much bigger as Chloe’s family shared stories of hope, her journey, and her daily struggles. This gave the Berg team an extra spark of enthusiasm to come together with a shared purpose and give Chloe a space to play, laugh, and simply be a kid.

Throughout the morning, our volunteers worked side by side organizing materials, assembling the structure (including triple verification of each section), and adding the final touches to ensure a safe and fun playset. The energy was contagious as teamwork and collaboration were on full display. We were all laughing, making jokes, making new friends, and creating warmth and memories that only charity can provide. This demonstrates the very best of what the Bergelectric Charitable Foundation stands for.

As the build progressed, a once shy Chloe who saw what was being built in her very own front yard, turned into the life of the build. She made new friends with Alice and Lucy (Hans Erickson’s daughters), they drew with sidewalk chalk, passed a soccer ball back and forth, hit t-ball, ate donuts and helped blow up the party balloons to decorate the playset. By the time of the big reveal, the completed playset stood as a symbol of resilience, shared purpose, and care. Chloe immediately began climbing, sliding, and swinging and even invited her new friends to play on her new playset which was packed with Bluey toys and decorations donated by team members.

The day was a true reflection of the power of giving back. For the Bergelectric team, it was more than just building a playset for Chloe; it was building joy, connection, and lasting memories. Thank you to Chloe’s build team members: Greg and Michelle W, Justin W, Matthew I, Gina M, Randy J, Omar L, Andrew M, and Hans, Alice and Lucy E.
