What an incredible experience it was, to show up in full force to help a family whom we had just met earlier that week. In partnership with Roc Solid Foundation and the Bergelectric Charitable Foundation, we had approximately 30 people from our Bergelectric Las Vegas region show up on a Saturday to volunteer time to help transform the backyard of a local family, to bring ‘play’ to their little 14-month-old girl, as she was diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing treatments.  And what a beautiful little girl she is!

When the Las Vegas region met with the family, we learned that Dad wanted to have turf put down in the backyard before the playset was installed, so Dad took it upon himself to get started.  Unfortunately, that turf project was far too much for one person to take on alone. Bergelectric offered to take over the turf installation project so dad could focus his time and energy on his family and his little girl. But we are electricians, not turf installers and honestly, we really do not know the first thing about installing turf!  With less than one week to pull this project together, we called on our construction network and reached out to friends with the Nevada Contractors Association, who then introduced us to GTI / Brightview Landscaping, and they were able to help out with a few turf installation volunteers.

Led by Bergelectric General Foreman, Corey S., we were able to completely transform their yard with beautiful turf and an amazing playset for this little girl to enjoy for years to come. Our LV Region employees also donated numerous backyard toys to enjoy as well!

To see the joy and smiles on the faces of this young family, meant the world to so many of us that helped pull this project together.  A huge thank you to all of those volunteers that donated their time to help complete this project and to Corey, fantastic job coordinating this entire build!
