This holiday season, Bergelectric Corporate was privileged to sponsor a family from The Shine Project Foundation. We were honored to support Brenda (mother), Anthony (father), and Emilio (son) as part of our commitment to giving back to the community.
Emilio, who is turning six on December 23rd, was diagnosed with level three autism at the age of four and a half. Born with a tiny ear canal, his hearing was delayed, and it was uncertain whether he would speak or become independent. However, since moving to Camp Pendleton, where Anthony is stationed as a Marine, the family has been able to access the necessary support and specialists in the North County area. Emilio has made remarkable progress, and his family is incredibly grateful for the care and resources they’ve received.
The family expressed their heartfelt appreciation for Bergelectric’s help this Christmas season. We are grateful to have positively impacted their lives and look forward to continuing our support for those in need.
The Shine Project Foundation Story:
In the summer of 2014, Rob and Cheryl Williams, longtime educators specializing in children with special needs and Dual Language immersion in the Oceanside and Encinitas Unified School Districts, took a bold step. They paused their careers to embark on an epic road trip through Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, where they would spend a year living with their two children, Kirra (11) and Kai (8). This transformative adventure inspired them to create The Shine Project Foundation, dedicated to helping children in need.
