Since 9/11, Tunnel to Towers Foundation have been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building customdesigned smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
The Bergelectric Charitable Foundation made a $50,000 contribution to this wonderful organization. We had the honor of meeting Megan Buriak, who is not only an ambassador to Tunnel to Tower but is a recipient of this generous foundation. Megan tragically lost her Navy husband in a helicopter accident. Living in total despair she was also overwhelmed with financial worries. She was not sure how she and her son would financially survive in San Diego. Through the Navy, she learned of this organization and applied. Her accepted application meant that Tunnel for Towers paid off her mortgage which took away all the financial worry she had been struggling with. Today she volunteers her time as an ambassador for Tunnel to Towers as a way to give back wherever she is able.
